Billboard Music Awards - Likes and Yikes!

Did you catch the Billboard Music Awards this weekend? I didn't, but I'll be catching them online instead. Here are my thoughts on the hits and misses from the Red Carpet.

Like:
Not sure when Kelly Rowland got so damn gorgeous but here she is looking stunning in this pink dress showing off her incredible body. I love her pink lipstick. Such a great fresh look for her. I saw her in person this year at TIFF and she is just as pretty in person. Keep it up girl!

Yikes:

A major YIKES! for Nicki Manaj. Pink hair with white roots. Really? and the unflattering onesie... I'm all for being unique but this is just hard to look at.

Like:

Love Taylor's makeup and hair here. Simple but elegant. The dress I wasn't the biggest fan of for the occasion but everything else was very pretty.
Yikes:

Nicole Kidman is always a Yikes for me... Enough said.

Like:
Loving this on trend white number Rihanna was sporting. Looks fabulous on her and really makes her hair colour *pop*.

Like/Yikes:

I do like Selena Gomez's look here but also don't think it's age appropriate. I'd like it alot better without the massive slit. Love the ombre hair and makeup and the cute red shoes.

Yikes:

I don't like the whole dominatrix thing Fergies got goin on and the crazy smokey eyes with no colour on the lips isn't really on trend for a Spring awards show.

Like:

This makeup look on Keri Hilson is exactly what I would have liked to see on Fergie. Gorgeous colour and a subtle pink lip.

Yikes:

Just like Nicole Kidman, Kesha is another one that's normally a big Yikes in my books. This dress is a mess, as is her hair.

Have a favourite or a least favourite look from the Awards?

Let me know!

Something Borrowed

I find it funny when movie critics try to review Romantic Comedies and Chick Flicks. 9 times out of 10 it's always a bad review or 2 and a half stars. There's a reason a movie is classified as a Chick Flick and a Rom Com and ain't because they are trying to win an Oscar.... it's because of the fact that it's light hearted, cheesy and EXACTLY what a movie like that SHOULD be. If you go to the movie expecting it to be anything more then that then you are sure to be disappointed. But if you go expecting it to be exactly what it should be then you will 9 times out of 10 enjoy it!!

I never judge a Chick Flick. I sit back, relax, and enjoy. These movies aren't meant to be judged. They are not meant to be award winning or Oscar worthy.

I went and saw Something Borrowed last night with my best friend. The other day I saw a write up in the paper tearing the movie apart and giving it 2 and a half stars. Throughout the movie I heard the girls in the row behind me moaning and groaning about how cheesy it was.

Well, I am here to say I LOVED it! I laughed a bunch of times, there was love, emotion, silliness and fun and that's ALL I require from a romantic comedy.

John Krasinskis sarcasm never ceases to crack me up. His story line was hilarious.

Loved the synchronized dance routine the girls performed. Brought back memories of me and my girls.

The lead male role played by Colin Egglesfield bears a striking resemblance to a young Tom Cruise (not sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing) but regardless I enjoyed the character.

Steve Howey from Shameless (one of THE best shows on TV) was one of the best characters. Too funny! Everytime he was on screen I was laughing.

Seen this movie yet? I'd love to hear what you thought!

This just in.....

If you haven't already heard or seen, Blake Lively has dyed her hair red. I like when celebrities change things up and try new things with their looks but I have to admit this is not a change I'm digging. I mean, when your hair is as loved and has become as iconic as "The Rachel", as Blake Lively's blonde beach waves, why change such a great thing? Anyways, it's only hair and maybe it's for a movie role, but I bet it wont be long before she's back to blonde.

This look is a little too "Little Mermaid" for my liking

Hair Perfection! If I were to choose to look like any celebrity it would be a toss up between Blake Lively and Carrie Underwood.

Whats your celebrity hair crush?

Happy Easter!

I thought I would share this Easter joke that my Dad forwarded to me. He thought it was a quite fitting joke to send along to me. I agree with him.
Enjoy!

A man is driving along a highway and sees a rabbit jump out across the middle of the road.

He swerves to avoid hitting it, but unfortunately the rabbit jumps right in front of the car.

The driver, a sensitive man as well as an animal lover, pulls over and gets out to see what has become of the rabbit.

Much to his dismay, the rabbit is the EASTER BUNNY, and he is DEAD.

The driver feels so awful that he begins to cry. A beautiful blonde woman driving down the highway sees the man crying on the side of the road and pulls over.

She steps out of the car and asks the man what's wrong?

"I feel terrible," he explains, "I accidentally hit the Easter Bunny with my car and KILLED HIM."

The blonde says, "Don't worry."

She runs to her car and pulls out a spray can. She walks over to the limp, dead Easter Bunny, bends down, and sprays the contents onto him.

The Easter Bunny jumps up, waves its paw at the two of them and hops off down the road.

Ten feet away he stops, turns around and waves again, he hops down the road another 10 feet, turns and waves, and repeats this again and again and again, until he hops out of sight.

The man is astonished. He runs over to the woman and demands, "What is in that can? What did you spray on the Easter Bunny?"

The woman turns the can around so that the man can read the label.

It says....

"Hair Spray

Restores life to dead hair,

and adds permanent wave." (hehehehe)

HAPPY EASTER!!!!!

Dream Polish

I never really understood why some beauty companies would charge $25 or more for a nail polish. I mean, sure some nail polish is more high quality then others but can a little bottle of nail polish really be worth that high of a price point?

To answer my own question... YES... nail polish can definitly be worth it!

I recently tried new Estee Lauder Pure Color Nail Laquer in Fuschia Flame. It goes on like a dream! Seriously, I've never enjoyed putting on a nail polish as much as I loved applying this one. It goes on perfectly, makes you feel like a professional manicurest. It comes in a variety of fun shades. This one in particular shows up more on the red side then the pink/purple side.

Have you tried higher priced nail polish? Was it worth it?

So Psyched about Sew Psyched!

I'm sporting Essie nail polish in "Sew Psyched" today. A fabulous army green colour that I'm loving for Spring! It goes on perfectly with two coats and hasn't chipped once in 24 hours which we all know is a feat in itself.
Sorry about the poor quality picture. The phone on my camera isn't the greatest!
Tried this colour yet? Want to?

Wake Up Sleepy Head

Because sometimes early mornings are such a drag and because sometimes putting on makeup can feel cakey instead of light and refreshing.... New Almay Wake Up Hydrating Makeup is a nice new addition to my morning routine. I'll admit, the way this powder feels when you put it on takes a little getting used to. It feels damp compared to other loose powders but after I applied it a couple of times I started to really like it. It feels like it actually sticks to your face which in return will create better coverage. It also does have a great "wake me up" feel to it since it feels so refreshing. I'm liking this new spin on powder. How about you?

Kiss Me I'm (part) Irish

It's St. Patrick's day and in the name of St. Patricks day beauty I have decorated my nails in what I believe to be the best possible nail polish to wear on this day.

.
SpaRitual in "Earth Matters."

.
This picture doesn't show the true brightness of this shade, but trust me, it's over the top Irish perfection.... and although today is probably the only day of the year I would ever consider wearing this colour, I am thoroughly enjoying it every time I glance down at my nails.

Confession

I'm a Dressaholic.... I know for some girls it's shoes... for others it's purses... for me it's 100% dresses. When I'm looking for shoes, purses or any other item I'm cautious, I search for a good deal, I'm picky. But when I find a dress I love all bets are off. Rational thinking out the door. I have to have!!!

I discovered this site Modcloth.com and I can't express my delight over the dress options this site has to offer. No matter the occasion, no matter your style, this site will have a dress for EVERYONE. There are so many adorable things to choose from.

I'm swooning over these little numbers:

Currently trying to control my online shopping urge.

Craving The Heat?

I hate to talk about the weather. I feel like its a very overly common topic of conversation lately... around March when we are all terribly sick of winter and dying for the first signs of Spring. Well here you go:

If you liked Beyonce Heat you will LOVE Beyonce Heat Rush. They have similarities but Heat Rush is a more fresh, light, sweet, tropical version of the two. You can really smell the delicious blood orange notes and sticking with the trend of how popular the colour orange is right now (with everything from lipstick to clothes) the bottle makes a great display item. Need to find a dress the same colour as the one Beyonce is wearing in this ad!
