Golden Globe Glamour Galore!

Award show season is in full swing and I'm loving every minute of it! Lets discuss last nights hits, misses and highlights :)

If I could wear any dress from last nights red carpet it would be this one, worn by Lea Michelle. I absolutely love this! The pink shade is perfect. The cut is dramatic and elegant. I love everything about it.
So glad Christian Bale won for best supporting actor. His performance in The Fighter was unreal. A must see movie.

Carrie Underwood is always one of my favourites on the red carpet but ummm, what the HECK is going on with her hair? Have side burns ever been a good look on anyone? Terrible. So unlike her.

Loving Dianna Agron's look here. So beautiful and angelic. I'd like to know what shade of lipstick this is.
I just love Helen Mirren. Doesn't matter how old she is, she isn't afraid to show some skin and take risks with her look. So fabulous. Plus, she's bff with Russel Brand which means she has a killer sense of humour. Love that!

Love this take on a black dress. I always find black so boring on the red carpet but this dress is anything BUT boring. I do however wish she had more colour on her face. Her face is disappearing here.

Emma Stone are you kidding me?!?!?!? STUNNING!!! The blonde hair, the perfect matte makeup, the skin tone, that dress!!! This girl is on fire. I hope she stays normal and doesn't drift off into Lohan La La land.

Why? .... that is all
Love Anne Hathaway in this backless dress. If I had brown hair I would want this exact shade. Also loving this very popular champagne colour alot of ladies were wearing last night.

Are you serious? This is all wrong. I just don't "GET" Jennifer Love Hewitt. Does she pick out her own outfits and hair styles? She must, because I don't think any professional stylist would allow "this" ......eeekk

YIKES!!!!
What were your fav Golden Globe moments?

Nail Haul

Recently splurged on some nail polish. I really have no good reason to ever buy nail polish... after working for Revlon and Sally Hansen I have all the nail polish any girl could need... But occasionally I come across nail shades that I just cannot resist.

Here are the shades I'm loving:
China Glaze in "Secret Peri-Wink-Le"
I just love blue nail polish. I don't see too many people wearing it but I always recieve compliments when I sport it. This shade is fantastic if you're looking for something unique. China Glaze polishes always require a top coat. Try: Revlon No Chip Top Coat.
O.P.I. in "Show It And Glow It"
This colour is part of the O.P.I. Burlesque collection. For a glitter polish it has fantastic coverage! You wont need to put another shade underneath. This colour is so much fun. O.P.I really knows how to do glitter right.

O.P.I in "Do You Lilac It?"
This lavender shade is making me anxious for Spring!

Essie in "Pink Parka"
This bright pink is perfect on toes!

Essie in "Haute As Hello"

Maybe my new favourite shade name. So cute! This shade needs about three coats for full coverage but once it's applied it's a gorgeous shade of coral. I like coral shades that are more pink than orange so this is a good fit.

Marilyn Denis Show!

I'm always excited by new Canadian happenings in the industry I work in. I was super excited when The Kit launched and now I'm excited about the new Marilyn Denis Show which launched this week.

I live right by the muchmusic building and every morning this week on my way to work I passed by the ladies on the street waiting to get into the show.

I loved Cabral Richards discussing breakup songs with NHL players. I also enjoyed the Josh Grobin interview and the monthly segment "Real Housewives of Canada" highlighting the homes of successful Canadian women. The first housewife was Elaine Dobbin who showed off her Florida mansion which is absolutely gorgeous! She also showed off her very extensive and expensive jewelry collection. Looking forward to seeing this segment again.

Overall I'd say it was a great first week for the Marilyn Denis Show. Great variety, exciting guests and unique segments.

Beyond excited that Taylor Kitsch will be on the show next week!!

Happy New Year!!!

Hope everyone had a very Happy New Year!
Wishing everyone a beautiful 2011.

Had a blast ringing in the new year with my bestfriend and my boyfriend. Take time this year to celebrate the relationships in your life that mean the most to you.

I LOVE Christmas.... okay, probably the most obvious statement ever considering I'm a girl who's very easily excited by just about everything.... I'm aware I'm not the only one who loves the holidays.... and altho I always try to focus on the "real meaning of Christmas" which for me is about spending time with family and friends, nights spent decorating trees, ice skating outside, walking around town looking at window displays and lights, wrapping gifts while watching old school Christmas classics... I still find myself occasionally giving in to that other side of Christmas... The side you can't help but like....The side filled with gifts, goodies and feeling spoiled... A feeling always brought on by PRESENTS!!

It's Christmas time at the office and I couldn't help being overly excited when gift bags arrived at our door filled with beauty products and a box of O.P.I. nail polish. Eeeeee!!!!!

I now have some new product favs that I'm gifting to myself and some others that will be perfect for people on my list this year.

The O.P.I. Texas collection for Spring/Summer 2011 is filled with a great variety of colours. I'm loving Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em.

Chloe fragrances have quickly become one of my go to fragrances. They are feminine, sophisticated, fresh and most importantly they last all day long. I am in love with new Love, Chloe... So I guess they got the name right. The smell is very intoxicating and quite different from the regular Chloe fragrance. The powdery floral gives it a younger more modern feel. Mmm I'm wearing it today...I just can't get enough of it.
I'm sure you've come across the Marc Jacobs Bang ads by now... the one with Marc Jacobs himself laying naked, legs spread with only an oversize bottle of Bang to cover him... They continued to shock me everytime I see one. Well, I have to admit this is the coolest cologne bottle I have ever seen. I don't think there's a guy out there who wouldnt' want to display it. My Dad is a huge fan of cologne so this one will be going to him this year.

Whats on your shopping list/Christmas list this year?

Want to smell like a bombshell?

I know we've all experienced beauty products that aren't true to their name or don't deliver as promised.... But, I have to admit Victoria's Secret Bombshell fragrance actually makes you smell..... like a Bombshell.

I wear the fragrance out during the day because it's light and not over-bearing, but my favourite product is the Bombshell body lotion. I love putting it on after showers before bed with some sexy PJ's and it truely does make you feel like a goddess.

With blends of purple passion fruit, shangri-la yellow peony and vanilla orchid the scent is more musky then fruity which I like.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show aired last night and sticking to tradition, me and my girls got together in our Victoria's Secret gear to watch the show. If you like beauty, girly, glitz and glamour then you will definitely love this fashion show.

I saw alot of the angels in person this year when we launched Victoria's Secret in Canada so it made it even more exciting to watch them on the runway this year.

My favourite look of the evening was also worn by my favourite VS Angel Candice Swanepoel.
It's unfair how gorgeous she is! Her body is perfection. Love Love Love this sexy milk-maid themed outfit.

My second favourite outfit was also worn by Candice, this gorgeous rocker-chick number.
Loving these tightly fitted thigh-high boots!

Third favourite look was Erin Heatherton's peacock outfit. The headdress was so unique and absolutely stunning on the runway.

Pout ENVY!!!! If I could switch pouts with anyone in the world it would hands down be Rosie.
Add it to the wish list! I needs these onesie pajamas with the pink lips on them!!

Adorable!!

Hope they sell these pink robes in store!

Until next year! xoxo

A Night Of Beauty

I recently attended the launch event for the new Calvin Klein BEAUTY Fragrance held by Coty and Fashion Magazine. The party was at Jamie Kennedy's cafe at the Gardiner Museum. I love this event space, I had never been there before and found it quite beautiful. Great DJ as well, the music was excellent!

I am now also a big fan of this fragrance. It has more of an elegant, sophisticated smell but it's not too overbearing to wear on a daily basis, which I love. The smell lasts a long time but isn't head-achy like other sophisticated perfumes can be. After it's lingered on my skin for a little while I find it begins to have a very warm smell, which is especially nice for the winter months. I think this is the perfect fragrance for the holiday season because it can take you from day to night.

The fragrance was inspired by the beauty of calla lilies and was created by Sophie Labbe. Definitely a new scent worth checking out!

Yes Please!

Add it to the wishlist:
CHARM by Kate Spade available in Pink and Pewter for $350.00

Finally!!!!

It's like someone read my mind! As soon as I posted about Taylor Swifts CMA look on the red carpet being tired and over-done she REALLY switched things up for this weeks AMA's. I love so many things about this look on her. The straight hair is a nice change, the false eye lashes
add a great glam factor, and the porcelain skin is flawless. The colour of her hair is my favourite part. It's STUNNING! I think I will be bringing this picture with me the next time I head to the salon.
I do prefer the pony-tail look but it's still nice to see her taking risks with her hair and wardrobe.

Lanvin for H & M - Holiday Wish List - Part Two

This marks post #2 of my holiday wish list. I just checked the Lanvin for H&M collection online which hits stores November 20th. I am officially in love. Prices seem steep for an H&M collection but from the looks of these pictures it looks like it'll be worth it. I'll be heading there on Nov 20th to try and narrow my selection down to one item.... Wish me luck!!!!

This coat is beautiful.

Loving the cut of this LBD.

I have a feeling I will end up buying this little pink number. Makes me want to get up and do the Cha-Cha

So Cute!!

Dying to try this skirt on. It also comes in black.

I'm a sucker for a one shoulder dress and the cinched waist on this one will make it flattering for any girls figure.

Will you be checking out this collection? What pieces do you have your eye on?

CMA's Beauty Recap

I'm a big country music fan. Sadly, I've been slacking on my TV watching as of lately and missed the CMA's.... but through the magic of the internet I didn't have to miss the beauty looks. Here's a look at some of my favourite hits and not-so-favourite misses.

HIT! As per usual Carrie Underwood gets it right. She looks flawless in this stunning gown and as always, I am loving the colour of her hair.

Big MISS for Leighton Meester who normally looks amazing.... but this dress isn't doing her any favours and really washes out her complexion. Also, she could have really used some more eye makeup.... black eyeliner... something! Her eyes look so tired.

HIT for Gweneth! Love the side swept hair, love the slit and side peek-a-boo of this dress, plus the colour scheme is amazing. Grey and pink together is my favourite.

Somewhat of a MISS for Taylor Swift.... She needs to stop doing the whole long red dress thing... She's done it too many times and it's boring and ages her in a not so good way.

MISS.... Do I even need to explain this one? I LOVE Kellie Pickler. I think she is hilarious and I'm a fan of her music.... I know she idolizes Dolly Parton but that doesn't mean she has to look this tacky.

HIT! Love this STUNNING pink dress worn by Miranda Lambert. The sweetheart neckline and off the shoulder straps are so flattering. This is my favourite dress of the night.

Holiday Wish List

This marks entry #1 for my Holiday Wish List this year.

I haven't even smelt this fragrance yet, and frankly I don't care what it smells like. It was love at first site when I saw this Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb fragrance on the pages of LouLou Magazine's November issue. This limited edition for Christmas 2010 fragrance appears to be wearing a pretty pink tutu which I absolutely ADORE!

BEAUTIFUL LIFE

Through all the broken hearts, boring dates, blah connections, feeling unappreciated, settling for something less then you deserve, situations that turn out to be something they are not, people who change, people who let you down, people who don't follow through, or people who just don't see you for who you really are, hope can be lost. Maybe not all at once, maybe it's a gradual loss that you don't even realize... until one day that hope you were losing comes back to smack you in the face, to show you exactly what you were missing.

There are certain connections in life that only happen a handful of times. The kind of connection that happens so suddenly and instantly, that you can't picture how your life was before it existed. The kind of connection that is completely effortless and wonderful. It's hard to pinpoint how and why these connections can happen with one person and not with another. It's completely unexplainable. But some things in life are better left unquestioned. Sometimes it's better to just go with it, embrace it, and enjoy every moment of it...for however long it lasts, no matter how scary it can be.

Melt into the mushiness, kisses, butterflies, and laughter. The things that make life exciting, fun, and worth all the hard times. The things that make life BEAUTIFUL.
